Your Land, Your Legacy – Conserve It for Generations

There are several options available for individuals wishing to donate land or conservation agreements to Manitoba Habitat Conservancy:

• Land Donation: a transfer of a land parcel from the current landowner to Manitoba Habitat Conservancy
• Conservation Agreement Donation: you choose which area of your land to conserve, while the rest of your property can continue to be used as productive land
• Bequest: from the landowner to Manitoba Habitat Conservancy, usually in the form of the landowner’s Last Will and Testament
• Life Interest and Remaining Interest land donation: a combination of a land donation and bequest

Each option has distinct advantages for the landowner in terms of donation receipts for income tax purposes, costs, payment of property taxes, land maintenance, and access.

Official donation receipts for income tax purposes are issued for all donations over $20.
