Wetland Restoration
Wetland Restoration Opportunities
Following the success of MHC’s past restoration work, the Corporation continues to partner with landowners in the restoration of wetlands on their property. MHC is currently looking for landowners willing to have previously drained wetlands restored to their original condition. Restoration works are conserved and enhanced using:
- Perpetual Conservation Agreements via wetland Conservation Agreements of Land Donations
- Term Conservation Contracts through 10-year Conservation Contracts
- Waterfowl Nesting Structures
Duck Nest Tunnels
MHHC installs and maintains Duck Nest Tunnels in partnership with Delta Waterfowl. The bulk of these structures are located in the Shoal Lake and Minnedosa regions, which is referred to internationally as “the bread basket of North America Waterfowl”.
How You Can Help
